That brooding Mr Darcy...

...has gotten on my nerves. Here's an article I read online Macfadyen on Darcy.

I agree with the writer that "Macfadyen's Darcy is wounded, boyish, broken. Stiff with inhibition, his face misshapen, his eyes eerie distant chips of light blue, he is magnificent. His sexuality is far more understated than Firth’s, but no less powerful." So now I want to see the Colin Firth version (after all, I like Mr Firth too). I also want to read the book (which I confess I've never read).

By the way, the photo of Mr Macfadyen in the article is really nice.

Comments:
Matthew MacFadyen's Mr. Darcy is inhibited, which is why he comes off as proud. Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy, which my friends in the office still maintain is THE definitive Mr. Darcy, is really stiff-necked and a bit conceited (from the scenes I saw) so it's more fun to see him unravel. Colin Firth starred in the Pride and Prejudice miniseries by BBC (I think) that all my friends at the office have seen and drooled/sighed over and which I haven't coz my player refuses to play region 1. I think you can order the series from Amazon. Six episodes, Isa! ;)

i'm actually thinking of getting the series :). let's hope kuya toti and kuya tony get their visas

Oh by the way, Spooks (where Mr and Mrs Macfadyen both star), will be shown in Hallmark soon. There's a show that might satisfy those of us with a Macfadyen fetish
